Walking the Camino de Santiago from Leon to Santiago

Our Destination: Santiago

Picture27This is where we are going: the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela and resting place for the relics of St. James. The cathedral was built between 1075 and 1122 and consecrated in 1128. The exterior was updated in a distinct Baroque style in the eighteenth century. Arriving at this impressive site is a shock after weeks in the countryside, and a reminder that the camino is over, and the next steps about to begin.
